Modification and Crosslinking

Although Hyaluronic acid is excellent in biocompatibility and hydrophilicity, it is rapidly absorbed and disappears
when injected into the skin.

oxygen in the human body. If more links are generated through the crosslinking reaction, then it takes more time for
enzymes or reactive oxygen to discompose the crosslinked Hyaluronic acid, thus enaing the volume to be maintained for
a longer time.
As Hyaluronic acid has the same chemical structure in all species, it has a much lower allergic reaction risk (not requiring
a skin test prior surgery).
